87484950cf - removed an assert from APowerMorph::EndEffect. With some recent changes to DestroyAllInventory it appears that the asserted condition no longer is true at this point when ending a game.
- fixed: When replacing a tentative class, the pointers in the morph objects were not replaced. Instead of adding more ReplaceClassRef methods I chose to integrate this part into the PointerSubstitution mechanism and delete ReplaceClassRef entirely. The code had some oversights anyway that would have caused problems, now that non-actors can be created.

66d28a24b8 - disabled the scripted virtual function module after finding out that it only works if each single class that may serve as a parent for scripting is explicitly declared.
Needless to say, this is simply too volatile and would require constant active maintenance, not to mention a huge amount of work up front to get going.
It also hid a nasty problem with the Destroy method. Due to the way the garbage collector works, Destroy cannot be exposed to scripts as-is. It may be called from scripts but it may not be overridden from scripts because the garbage collector can call this function after all data needed for calling a scripted override has already been destroyed because if that data is also being collected there is no guarantee that proper order of destruction is observed. So for now Destroy is just a normal native method to scripted classes

9563045305 - moved declaration of native fields into the respective class definitions.
This bypasses a declaration in the script in favor of a simpler implementation. In order to work it is always necessary to have an offset table to map the variables to, but doing it fully on the native side only requires adding the type to the declaration.

c17da32dbd - added object deserialization. It seems to work, at least the stuff I sampled looked like it was properly reatored and it triggers no error condition.
- always make the top level object randomaccess when opening a JSON file for reading. Some things won't work right if this is opened for sequential access.

b2ccd0bd28 Use action function return value to make state jumps happen
- The A_Jump family of action functions now return the state to jump
  to (NULL if no jump is to be taken) instead of jumping directly.
  It is the caller's responsibility to handle the jump. This will
  make it possible to use their results in if statements and
  do something other than jump.
- DECORATE return statements can now return the result of a function
  (but not any random expression--it must be a function call). To
  make a jump happen from inside a multi-action block, you must
  return the value of an A_Jump function. e.g.:
    { return A_Jump(128, "SomeState"); }
- The VMFunction class now contains its prototype instead of storing
  it at a higher level in PFunction. This is so that
  FState::CallAction can easily tell if a function returns a state.
- Removed the FxTailable class because with explicit return
  statements, it's not useful anymore.

b484cbf18a - fixed: It is not guaranteed that the class object that is created by FindClassTentative actually matches the real object that is required later, so it needs to be replaced wherever it could be referenced once the real object is created.
- removed some unneeded code from earlier attempts to fix the class type resolving issue.

407d38f3d6 - add a bit more stuff that needs to be done before a restart to ensure that all obsolete data is taken down.
(There's still a problem with the garbage collector kicking in and deleting stuff it's not supposed to, so Restart still doesn't work)

e021fba5e1 Improve NoDelay reliability.
- Instead of tying NoDelay behavior to OF_JustSpawned, use a new actor
  flag, MF7_HANDLENODELAY. This only gets cleared once it has actually
  been checked by Tick(). This is necessary because freeze mode delays the
  initial run of Tick() past the initial spawn, so OF_JustSpawned will no
  longer be set when it does the initial tick.
- Delay NoDelay processing if an actor is spawned dormant. Actors spawned
  dormant have Deactivate() called before they tick, so MF7_HANDLENODELAY
  will remain set as long as an actor is dormant. This allows the NoDelay
  handling to occur as expected once it is activated.

38d7b7d203 - Fixed errors and warnings when compiling with GCC. (Unfortunately, the VC++ debug builds
become ungodly slow when using mods with complex DECORATE. The GCC debug builds run just
  fine, however. Hopefully this is something that can be fixed later with an assembly-optimized
  version of the main VM loop, because I don't relish the thought of being stuck with GDB
  for debugging.)
- Fixed: The ACS_Named* action specials were erroneously defined as taking strings instead of
  names.
- Fixed: Copy-paste error caused FxMultiNameState::Emit to generate code that called
  DecoNameToClass instead of DecoFindMultiNameState.
- Updated FxActionSpecialCall::Emit for named script specials.
- Fixed inverted asserts for FxMinusSign::Emit and FxUnaryNotBitwise::Emit.

5bfcaab25c - separation of software renderer from the rest of the code complete. All external access to the renderer is routed through the FRenderer interface class now, with two exceptions (2D texture drawing to a canvas and polymost testing code) that are handled by #defines.

ee55e0319f - Standardized use of PClassActor::AllActorClasses for iterating over all classes of actors
instead of PClass::m_Types (now PClass::AllClasses).
- Removed ClassIndex from PClass. It was only needed by FArchive, and maps take care of the
  problem just as well.
- Moved PClass into a larger type system (which is likely to change some/lots once I try and actually use it and have a better feel for what I need from it).

604b5ef673 - Removed the old meta data system. All meta data is now stored in subclasses of PClass. This
should simplify scripting, since it means that meta fields can be treated (mostly) the same as
  normal fields.

19b23f2cf3 - Removed the Actor uservar array and replaced it with user-defined variables.
A_SetUserVar/SetUserVariable/GetUserVariable now take a variable name
  instead of an array index. A_SetUserArray/SetUserArray/GetUserArray
  have been added to access elements in user-defined arrays.

1eb7912bd8 - Make the autosegs read-only.
- Derive PClass from dobject.cpp. This has one major ramification: Since the PClass
  is not allocated until runtime, you cannot initialize any static/global data
  structures with pointers to PClasses using RUNTIME_CLASS. Attempting to do so
  will just initialize with a NULL pointer. Instead, you can initialize using
  the address of the pointer returned by RUNTIME_CLASS and dereference that. By
  the time you have an opportunity to dereference it, it will no longer be NULL.
- Sync CmakeLists.txt.
- Random fixes for problems GCC spotted.

4d4e8e89b3 - Changed the DWORDs in dobject.h into uint32s, since they were preventing
edit-and-continue from working for the Windows source files.
- When a WM_KEYDOWN message is received with VK_PROCESSKEY, the scan key is
  now used to retrieve the real virtual key for the message. This fixes the
  previous issue that caused me to completely disable the IME.
- Removed the code that disables the IME, since it also disables the ability
  to switch between keyboard layouts that do not use an IME.
- TranslateMessage() is no longer called if GUI capture mode is off, so no
  dead key processing is performed until it might be useful.

641f946e32 - Fixed: The big endian version of PalEntry did not add the DWORD d field.
- Fixed: TObjPtr did not use a union to map its 2 pointers together.
- Added a compatibility mode for A_Mushroom. For DECORATE it is an additional
  parameter but to force it for Dehacked mods some minor hacks using the
  Misc1 variable were needed.

93202a5488 - Removed -fno-strict-aliasing from the GCC flags for ZDoom and fixed the
issues that caused its inclusion. Is an optimized GCC build any faster
  for being able to use strict aliasing rules? I dunno. It's still slower
  than a VC++ build.
  
  I did run into two cases where TAutoSegIterator caused intractable problems
  with breaking strict aliasing rules, so I removed the templating from it,
  and the caller is now responsible for casting the probe value from void *.
- Removed #include "autosegs.h" from several files that did not need it
  (in particular, dobject.h when not compiling with VC++).
