bd7476fb8d - untangled r_defs.h from actor.h
Both files can now be included independently without causing problems.
This also required moving some inline functions into separate files and splitting off the GC definitions from dobject.h to ensure that r_defs does not need to pull in any part of the object hierarchy.

1a16f664e4 - added a TStaticArray class that allows safe access to resizable static data (like the sectors, linedefs, etc.) for the VM.
- used this to replace the line list in Sector because that gets already used and implemented proper bounds checks for this type of array.

f9441cd9d9 - added null pointer validation to any relevant exported function. In most cases null pointers were already being treated as 'do nothing', but there's several places where this can make the code silently fail so in these cases a VM exception will be raised, once the VM's exception handling has been repaired to provide useful diagnostics. (Right now all it does is catch the exception, print a useless message and return to the caller as if nothing has happened.) 2016-12-02 12:06:49 +01:00

bbf62132d8 - added a larger batch of function exports.
- cleaned up the virtual function interface of APlayerPawn which still had many virtual declarations from old times when class properties were handled through virtual overrides. None of this makes sense these days anymore.

66d28a24b8 - disabled the scripted virtual function module after finding out that it only works if each single class that may serve as a parent for scripting is explicitly declared.
Needless to say, this is simply too volatile and would require constant active maintenance, not to mention a huge amount of work up front to get going.
It also hid a nasty problem with the Destroy method. Due to the way the garbage collector works, Destroy cannot be exposed to scripts as-is. It may be called from scripts but it may not be overridden from scripts because the garbage collector can call this function after all data needed for calling a scripted override has already been destroyed because if that data is also being collected there is no guarantee that proper order of destruction is observed. So for now Destroy is just a normal native method to scripted classes

b70fee8ed8 - changed the means how to control the slowdown of crushing ceilings encountering an obstacle and corrected a few mistakes in the implementation
* there is a new crushing mode 3, which means that the crusher will always slow down if it hits an obstacle.
* crushing mode 1 (Doom mode) will never slow down.
* crushing mode 0 (compatibility) will only slow down for the specials that did so before, and only if both up and downspeed are 8 and the game is not Hexen. The following specials are affected:
  * Ceiling_LowerAndCrush
  * Ceiling_LowerAndCrushDist
  * Ceiling_CrushAndRaise
  * Ceiling_CrushAndRaiseA
  * Ceiling_CrushAndRaiseDist
  * Ceiling_CrushAndRaiseSilentA
  * Ceiling_CrushAndRaiseSilentDist
* Generic_Crusher was fixed to act like in Boom: Not only a speed value of 8 will cause slowdown, but all speed values up to 24.
* Hexen crushing mode will never cause slowdowns because Hexen never did this. (which also makes no real sense, considering that the crusher waits for the obstacle to die.)

e277fbe81d Fixed some incorrectness with some Hexen crushing specials
- The following Hexen specials all stop 8 units above the floor:
  * Ceiling_CrushRaiseAndStay
  * Ceiling_CrushAndRaise
  * Ceiling_LowerAndCrush
  We only and Ceiling_LowerAndCrush correct. Clearly, I should have paid
  more attention when the Hexen source was released for the parts that I
  had already reverse engineered.

b0db5d9b16 - added a SECF_SILENTMOVE flag.
Since Eternity got this it's a good candidate for a potential Super-Boom standard, and it's also useful for silencing a sector temporarily without removing the sound sequence.

425e5b9ffc - replaced P_FindSectorFromTag with an FSectorTagIterator class.
This is done to encapsulate the gory details of tag search in one place so that the implementation of multiple tags per sector remains contained to a few isolated spots in the code.
This also moves the special 'tag == 0 -> activate backsector' handling into the iterator class.

df0d3543a8 - fixed: *ALL* original ceiling crushers, not just type 49, require a distance of 8 to the floor for the destination height. For the silent types this required a new action special, Ceiling_CrushAndRaiseSilentDist. This change only affects the XLAT mapping, the Hexen format types behave as before.
- removed the redundant internal ceilCrushAndRaiseDist ceiling movement type. It was precisely the same as ceilCrushAndRaise in all details.

d3ca1fddcc - added new action special Ceiling_LowerAndCrushDist. It's similar to Ceiling_LowerAndCrush but allows to explicitly set the distance from the floor where the ceiling stops moving. This is used to remove the special behavior for Strife from the code that unlike the other games moved the ceiling to the floor, not to 8 units above it.

9137ef04f6 - Added "SoundSequence" UDMF sector property. This is the name of the sound sequence to play for
the sector. Note that this contrasts with sound sequence things in that it takes a name and
  not a number. Also, placing a sound sequence thing in a sector will override this property.

9e42cdaf08 - Replaced the naive area sound implementation with one that takes into
consideration the size and shape of the sector producing the sound. See
  the lifts on Doom 2 MAP30 and compare with previous versions.
- Fixed: The stop sound for sector-based sound sequences was not played with
  the CHAN_AREA flag.

  S_Sound() for both names and IDs from now on.

acab6d9b30 - While doing the interpolation rewrite I noticed that DScroller and DPolyAction
were doing some things in their destructor that needed to be done in the
  Destroy method.
- Rewrote the interpolation code. Interpolations are no longer some objects
  that are separate from the rest of the engine. Instead, they are owned by
  the thinkers starting them. Also, polyobjects only spawn a single interpolation
  for each polyobject instead of a single one for each vertex.
  Also, different types of interpolation objects are used for different types
  of interpolation so that they can do some additional work if eventually needed.

aef34f9aa5 - Removed xlat_parser.h from the repository. Lemon was always being run on
xlat_parser.y because both files had the same time stamp after an update,
  and Lemon only rewrites the header file if it's changed.
- Added $volume SNDINFO command. This is multiplied with the volume the sound
  is played at to arrive at the final volume (before distance attenuation).
- Added the CHAN_AREA flag to disable 3D panning within the min distance of a
  sound. Sector sound sequences (except doors) use this flag.
- Added the CHAN_LOOP flag to replace the S_Looped* sound functions.
- Restored the sound limiting.

8244d1ea07 - Added a new parameter to all crushing action specials that selects
which crushing mode is used: 0 uses the game's default for compatibility,
  1 uses Doom's mode (crushers continue to move while damaging any actors ) and
  2 uses Hexen's mode (crushers stay at blocking actor's top until they die).
  Since Generic_Crusher already used all 5 args I created a second version for
  Hexen crushing mode.
- Added PICKUP flag to DECORATE.

7e7ab6b4ec - Fixed compilation with mingw again.
- Added multiple-choice sound sequences. These overcome one of the major
  deficiences of the Hexen-inherited SNDSEQ system while still being Hexen
  compatible: Custom door sounds can now use different opening and closing
  sequences, for both normal and blazing speeds.
- Added a serializer for TArray.
- Added a countof macro to doomtype.h. See the1's blog to find out why
  it's implemented the way it is.
    <http://blogs.msdn.com/the1/articles/210011.aspx>
- Added a new method to FRandom for getting random numbers larger than 255,
  which lets me:
- Fixed: SNDSEQ delayrand commands could delay for no more than 255 tics.
- Fixed: If you're going to have sector_t.SoundTarget, then they need to
  be included in the pointer cleanup scans.
- Ported back newer name code from 2.1.
- Fixed: Using -warp with only one parameter in Doom and Heretic to
  select a map on episode 1 no longer worked.
- New: Loading a multiplayer save now restores the players based on
  their names rather than on their connection order. Using connection
  order was sensible when -net was the only way to start a network game,
  but with -host/-join, it's not so nice. Also, if there aren't enough
  players in the save, then the extra players will be spawned normally,
  so you can continue a saved game with more players than you started it
  with.
- Added some new SNDSEQ commands to make it possible to define Heretic's
  ambient sounds in SNDSEQ: volumerel, volumerand, slot, randomsequence,
  delayonce, and restart. With these, it is basically possible to obsolete
  all of the $ambient SNDINFO commands.
- Fixed: Sound sequences would only execute one command each time they were
  ticked.
- Fixed: No bounds checking was done on the volume sound sequences played at.
- Fixed: The tic parameter to playloop was useless and caused it to
  act like a redundant playrepeat. I have removed all the logic that
  caused playloop to play repeating sounds, and now it acts like an
  infinite sequence of play/delay commands until the sequence is
  stopped.
- Fixed: Sound sequences were ticked every frame, not every tic, so all
  the delay commands were timed incorrectly and varied depending on your
  framerate. Since this is useful for restarting looping sounds that got
  cut off, I have not changed this. Instead, the delay commands now
  record the tic when execution should resume, not the number of tics
  left to delay.
