For some files that had the Doom Source license attached but saw heavy external contributions over the years I added a special note to license all original ZDoom code under BSD.
This is to ensure that the Class pointer can be set right on creation. ZDoom had always depended on handling this lazily which poses some problems for the VM.
So now there is a variadic Create<classtype> function taking care of that, but to ensure that it gets used, direct access to the new operator has been blocked.
This also neccessitated making DArgs a regular object because they get created before the type system is up. Since the few uses of DArgs are easily controllable this wasn't a big issue.
- did a bit of optimization on the bots' decision making whether to pick up a health item or not.
Needless to say, this is simply too volatile and would require constant active maintenance, not to mention a huge amount of work up front to get going.
It also hid a nasty problem with the Destroy method. Due to the way the garbage collector works, Destroy cannot be exposed to scripts as-is. It may be called from scripts but it may not be overridden from scripts because the garbage collector can call this function after all data needed for calling a scripted override has already been destroyed because if that data is also being collected there is no guarantee that proper order of destruction is observed. So for now Destroy is just a normal native method to scripted classes
This was to resolve some circular dependencies with the portal code.
The most notable changees:
* FTextureID was moved from textures.h to doomtype.h because it is frequently needed in files that don't want to do anything with actual textures.
* split off the parts from p_maputl into a separate header.
* consolidated all blockmap related data into p_blockmap.h
* split off the polyobject parts into po_man.h
The reason for defining them is to be able to fill out the Eternity translation table for GZDoom's Extradata parser.
Most of the new specials are mere specializations of ZDoom's Generic_* functions and occupy positions above 255 to avoid filling up the last remaining free slots available for Hexen format maps.
Allowing action specials greater than 255 required a few changes:
* all access to action specials is now through a small set of access functions.
* Two new PCodes were added to ACC to handle these new specials from scripts.
* a minor change to the network protocol, so netgame and demo version numbers were bumped.
* FS_Execute is now properly defined in p_lnspec.cpp.
Two of the newly added specials - generalizations of the special 'close Door in 30 seconds' and 'raise door in 5 minutes' sector types, will also be available to Hexen format maps. The rest are limited to use in ACS, UDMF and DECORATE.
This also adds 'change' and 'crush' parameters to most Floor_* and Ceiling_* specials, again to match Eternity's feature set.
- major overhaul of the static sector damage system:
* consolidated special based damage, Sector_SetDamage and UDMF properties into one set of damage properties. The parallel handling that could lead to double damage infliction was removed. This also means that damage through sector specials can be retroactively changed through Sector_SetDamage.
* all special cases were turned into flags. The new system can switch between Strife's delayed damage and regular damage, and it can also set whether terrain splashes are used or not. It also has access to the special properties of the end-level type (i.e. switching off god mode and ending the level.)
* the damage related flags are accessible through Sector_ChangeFlags, not the damage functions themselves.
Since Eternity got this it's a good candidate for a potential Super-Boom standard, and it's also useful for silencing a sector temporarily without removing the sound sequence.
This is done to encapsulate the gory details of tag search in one place so that the implementation of multiple tags per sector remains contained to a few isolated spots in the code.
This also moves the special 'tag == 0 -> activate backsector' handling into the iterator class.
* savegames stored an index in the switch table and performed no validation when loading a savegame.
* setting of a random switch animation duration was broken.
* separated the 2 values stored in the Time variable into 2 separate variables.
* defining a switch with one texture already belonging to another switch could leave broken definitions in the switch table.
- added function for serializing switch and door animation pointers.
- bumped min. savegame versions due to changes to DButtonThinker and removed all current savegame compatibility code.

the sector. Note that this contrasts with sound sequence things in that it takes a name and
not a number. Also, placing a sound sequence thing in a sector will override this property.
SVN r2492 (trunk)
- Removed #pragma warnings from cmdlib.h and fixed the places where they were
still triggered.
These #pragmas were responsible for >90% of the GCC warnings that were not
listed in VC++.
- Fixed one bug in the process: DSeqNode::m_Atten was never adjusted when the
parameter handling of the sound functions for attenuation was changed.
Changed m_Atten to a float and fixed the SNDSEQ parser to set proper values.
Also added the option to specify attenuation with direct values in addition
to the predefined names.
SVN r1583 (trunk)
failed to start the demo.
- Added a MF5_BRIGHT flag to always render an actor fullbright.
- Fixed: Calling Door_Animated with a non-zero tag created a new thinker
for each two-sided line of the sector.
- Added Karate Chris's submission for making 'spray' a cheat.
- Added CO2's default parameter additions for several Doom code pointers
submission.
- Added CO2's A_RemoveMaster/A_RemoveChildren submission.
- Added Blzut3's SBARINFO replacement for the Doom statusbar.
- Fixed: SBarInfo still displayed the wrong bar for height 0
- Added A_KillSiblings and A_DamageSiblings code pointers.
- added MaxAbsorb and MaxFullAbsorb properties for Armor.

the rest of the game is concerned, these sounds will never stop once they
have been started until they are explicitly stopped. If they are evicted
from their channels, the sound code will restart them as soon as possible.
This means that instead of this:
if (!S_IsActorPlayingSomething(actor, CHAN_WEAPON, -1))
{
S_Sound(actor, CHAN_WEAPON|CHAN_LOOP, soundid, 1, ATTN_NORM);
}
The following is now just as effective:
S_Sound(actor, CHAN_WEAPON|CHAN_LOOP, soundid, 1, ATTN_NORM);
There are also a couple of other ramifications presented by this change:
* The full state of the sound system (sans music) is now stored in save
games. Any sounds that were playing when you saved will still be
playing when you load. (Try saving while Korax is making a speech in
Hexen to hear it.)
* Using snd_reset will also preserve any playing sounds.
* Movie playback is disabled, probably forever. I did not want to
update the MovieDisable/ResumeSound stuff for the new eviction
tracking code. A properly updated movie player will use the VMR,
which doesn't need these functions, since it would pipe the sound
straight through the sound system like everything else, so I decided
to dump them now, which leaves the movie player in a totally unworkable
state.

- Changed S_Sound() to take the same floating point attenuation that the
internal S_StartSound() uses. Now ambient sounds can use the public
S_Sound() interface.
- Fixed: S_RelinkSound() compared the points of the channels against the
from actor's point, rather than checking the channels' mover.
- Changed Strife's animated doors so that their sounds originate from the
interior of the sector making them and not from the entire vertical height
of the map.
SVN r1055 (trunk)
that animated icons can be done with it.
- Changed FImageCollection to use a TArray to hold its data.
- Fixed: SetChanHeadSettings did an assignment instead of comparing
the channel ID witg CHAN_CEILING.
- Changed sound sequence names for animated doors to FNames.
- Automatically fixed: DCeiling didn't properly serialize its texture id.
- Replaced integers as texture ID representation with a specific new type
to track down all potentially incorrect uses and remaining WORDs used
for texture IDs so that more than 32767 or 65535 textures can be defined.
