e8aa715763 disabled some quake-only teamplay stuff in non-quake builds.
GL: r_dynamic -1 is now r_temporalscenecache 1, which makes menu options etc a little friendlier. fixed a serious memory leak.
GL: Lightmaps are now uploaded using pbos to reduce cpu stalls (especially with temporalscenecache) and the resulting periodic framerate drops. Requires gl4.4.
PM: moved manifest-downloads to the package manager. still needs some proper testing.
PM: Fixed bug with downloading updates from every known mirror for that update.
PM: Fixed bug with duplicate mirrors...
PM: menuqc is now able to query available updates.
engine's Draw_TextBox centers the text box more appropriately and easily.
SV: added sv_autooffload cvar, when set the map command will automatically create a server in a separate process to reduce the effects of stutter in inefficient ssqc mods.
Menu: menu_mods now shares data with getgamedirinfo builtin.
MenuQC: Added some extra properties to the getgamedirinfo builtin.
MenuQC: Added Menu_RendererRestarted entrypoint.
MenuQC: _vid_renderer_opts cvar now has a value that actually reflects the windowing systems in the build, rather than just renderers.
CQSC: Added getlocationname builtin.
ALSA: device names are now more consistent with other audio drivers.
SV: added unsavegame console command, to delete unwanted saved games.
SV: hashtable entries are now saved into saved games.
SV: reworked player remapping strategy when loading games. Player slots are now directly swapped serverside, not reconnected.
SV: resend all csqc entity state when a client signals that it started recording a demo.
SV: Added SOLID_BSPTRIGGER as a shapely alternative to the aabb SOLID_TRIGGER. modelindex must still be set for this to work.

062cdf6b21 Q3TA: Added snd_ignorecueloops cvar to ignore auto-looping sounds.
Q3TA: Fixed script parsing, so the menus are not so broken.
Q3TA: added the UI_CIN_* and CG_CIN_* builtins for 2d cinematic playbacks.
Q3TA: backspace should work for gamecode text entry now.
Q3TA: map_restart now directly restarts without needing loading screens.
Fixed multiple envmap generation bugs.
Fixed envmaps getting flushed with r_keepimages 0.
Console image previews can now display cubemaps (although their orientation is probably a little off).
Made a 'remapshader' csqc builtin. Depending on the r_remapshader console command was stupid.
Fixed packet command to create a udp socket, if needed.
sv_public can now be set to a non-numeric name for custom names (instead of needing to poke sv_port too).
Support extended data on the end of miptex entries in bsps. Requires a qbsp (like vanilla) that doesn't rewrite the miptex entries.
Updated imgtool to generate/read our new extended miptex data.

9033f7b237 fixed eztv md4 incompatibility.
reimplemented qtvreverse command.
fixed some stuffcmds being handled by the wrong splitscreen seats (was noticable in TF).
rework smartjump to try to be more predictable...
rework relighting to try to be more robust (and more self-contained).
allow the csqc to actually use VF_PROJECTIONOFFSET.
jump now moves upwards instead of trying to lock on to a nearby player when spectating.
assume 32 fullbright pixels when running with a palette.lmp yet no colormap.lmp (happens with some total conversions).
tweaked scoreboard for fainter backgrounds.
rearranged autoid, to be smaller etc.
hacked around dodgy conchars.lmp - don't treat 128*128 qpics as qpics to work around workarounds for buggy wad tools (with a warning).
fixed missing fullbrights on h2holey models.
avoided warning about mod_h2holey_bugged on dedicated servers.
added net_ice_exchangeprivateips, for people worried about exposing lan IPs when using ICE.
sv_public 2: implemented client support for our webrtc broker in order to use our own ICE implementation without needing to faff around with irc accounts or plugins etc.
TODO: ensure at least one ephemerial udp port when using ice or come up with some better sv_port handling
fixed multiple tls bugs (one could cause server problems). change net_enable_tls to disabled by default anyway (reenable for the server to be able to respond to https/wss/tls schemes again).
don't colourmap when there appears to be a highres diffusemap on q1 models.
imgtool now understands exporting from qpics in wads, as well as just mips.
implemented speed-o-meter in ezhud.
added removeinstant builtin to avoid the half-second rule.

8197e0875f Track areas properly, so we don't bug out when a client has multiple cameras in different areas.
Fix up r_ignoreentpvs 0 to check areas properly.
checkpvs builtin can no longer mess up area checks elsewhere.
Write out foo.db files for release builds, in the hopes of at least getting function names from release-build crashes.
Implement _skyroom worldspawn field, still needs a few tweaks though.
Try to fix android surface-related crashes, AGAIN.
Separate parsing of connect requests, in preparation for formal logins (and removal of the old ranking code).
A few tweaks to try to improve compatibility with q3 mods.

c6ed692871 Reworked networking a little, separating out common code for separate server/master processes.
Reworked glsl bones, so they work based upon the shader's version instead of the driver's version (more robust).
Fix te_teleport shader.
Track angles for antilag.

d1d0d86fea Rewrote infostrings. Now using infobuffers, which allows for the use of arbitrary blobs, except not using the protocol extension yet in case it needs to be fixed.
Fix sound source issues in Q3.
Fix q2 air acceleration/prediction omission.
Don't change console completion while typing (while that option is still possible).
Shift+tab now cycles completion backwards (now ctrl+shift for cycle subconsoles).
Allow a few things to ignore sv_pure - including csprogs files (which is useful for all the mods that come with the csprogs.dat distributed separately).
clamp pitch values to the range documented by openal, to hopefully avoid error spam.
add some colour coding to the text editor when shader files are being edited/viewed.
Changed how overbrights are clamped on q3bsp.
Added portalfboscale for explicit texture scales on portal/refract/reflect fbos.
qc decompiler can now at least attempt to decompile qtest's qc.
fteqccgui can now be pointed at a .pak file, and decompile the progs.dat inside.

9e8bb446f4 implemented pm_stepdown.
attempt to implement 'simple csqc' api.
handle qw+nq gunshot+blood+lightning differently - they do actually have different particle spawn patterns (qw is a single point, so spreads wider).
fix q3ui logo mesh thing. work around q3ui player meshes on d3d.
split video and renderer latching, so vid_reload delatches more stuff.
fix autosprite+autosprite2 in 6 different renderers...
added fog volumes to d3d9 renderer.
using matrix hacks instead of glDepthRange, this should give more consistent behaviour, especially now that we have r_viewmodel_fov.
small cleanup for gl shadowmaps to make the interface more consistent with other renderers.
added patchDef2 parsing to fte's .map loader, doesn't actually use it though.
some fixes for q3's shaders, including to try to get overbright working better.
updated customskin api to give more control.
first attempt at a packager system for fteqccgui. probably useless, but whatever.
menusys changes to try to support QSS's csqc.

db2c378fa0 centerprints with links now show cursors.
q2 temp entity tweaks. still more work to be done.
support sRGB (mostly)properly in gl+vk+d3d9+d3d11.
vulkan tweaks - multisample works under certain conditions. additional other changes to comply... cvars to enable some other device extensions.
removed r_viewleaf. now using clusters for q1 too.
improved compat with quakespasm's sky command.
Added vid_winthread cvar, to handle window messages on a separate thread. When set this allows the game to keep redrawing when the user is resizing the window etc.
Finally added renderers option to menusys.

c08a0aa139 fix some of the things that baker didn't like. sorry it took so long.
try to appease msvc6, just because.
update the downloads menu. now even betterer!...
fix proquake server angle snapping precision issue.
also accept _glow textures as an alternative to the more standard _luma.
compat for dp_water shader terms. tcgen stuff is still fscked up.
menu tooltip code can now properly deal with variable width etc stuff.
add missing te_flamejet builtin.
r_dynamic -1 can now cope with q3bsp for a small speedup.
added -watch commandline arg, to make it easier to figure out where cvar changes are coming from.

27a59a0cbc LOTS OF CHANGES. was hoping to get revision 5000 perfect, but really that's never going to happen. this has gone on for too long now.
vulkan, wasapi, quake injector features added.
irc, avplug, cef plugins/drivers reworked/updated/added
openal reverb, doppler effects added.
'dir' console command now attempts to view clicked files.
lots of warning fixes, should now only be deprecation warnings for most targets (depending on compiler version anyway...).
SendEntity finally reworked to use flags properly.
effectinfo improved, other smc-targetted fixes.
mapcluster stuff now has support for linux.
.basebone+.baseframe now exist in ssqc.
qcc: -Fqccx supports qccx syntax, including qccx hacks. don't expect these to work in fteqw nor dp though.
qcc: rewrote function call handling to use refs rather than defs. this makes struct passing more efficient and makes the __out keyword usable with fields etc.
qccgui: can cope a little better with non-unicode files. can now represent most quake chars.
qcc: suppressed warnings from *extensions.qc

isolated transfers a little.
added preliminary support for r1q2 and q2pro protocols (no zlib).
fixed some missing q2 hud configstrings.
fixed models attached to particles not appearing the first time around.
fixed halos appearing on {foo fullbright textures.
fix particle crash bug from missing particlecubes.
implement r_converteffectinfo (instead of r_importeffectinfo with r_exportalleffects) for convenience. also now more complete and more accurate.
loadfont no longer auto-allocates slot 0.
fix issues with r_dynamic -1
don't restart audio on vid_reload (only reload it). this fixes audio issues with capturedemo with gamedir changes.
fix possible crash from loading sounds during an audio reload/restart.
now listens on both ports 27500 and 26000 when running quake, by default. sv_port or -port args will override.
work around surfedge corruption in some instance of the slide4 map that dimman found.
attempt to nudge players to travel at at least 200qu when travelling vertically through portals. this should help alieviate gravity-induced stuttering issues.
fix nested function types used in conjunction with op_state. now assumes static within the parent.
optimise array indexes slightly.
fix issue with ptr[float].foo
fix some qcc bugs to do with implicit type conversions
fix a portal / angle protocol extension issue, so legacy clients can use portals, they just can't see the other side (nor predict them).
fix q2 victory.pcx issue at the end of the game.
use abort/sigabort instead of sigsegv on linux sys_errors. this should help get people to report stuff better.
reformat the nq server advertising to be more helpful.

5172823341 code to use occlusion queries for coronas.
tweaked cl_maxfps a little. now sticks much closer to the desired rate. also tweaked cl_netfps. clamps 77fps to 13ms frames (read: 76.9 fps) in an attempt to avoid tripping up any framerate checks (we had previously been using a lower net rate with occasional 14ms frames).
viewspace particles are now a thing.
greater control over spawning particles. its now possible to spawn particles only in slime, etc.
fix soundlength builtin.
preliminary version of r_dynamic -1, which can give some significant framerate boosts on certain maps.
fix halflife bsp texture issues.
rewrote worker thread logic. workers now work as a single pool, instead of independent pools. this means that you don't have to wait for a specific thread to finish before it can load new stuff, reducing overall load times some more. worker_count cvar allows reconfiguring the number of active workers. can be changed any time.
updated mod_terrain_create command. should be more useful now and make more sense when first loaded.
fix lit support. apparently its been broken for a while.
brush editor now has csg subtraction.

f4d3df7bf5 make sure the capture command doesn't switch between gamedirs while capturing.
added dimension_default global to provide default dimensions. expected to be a (var) constant.
support setcustomskin in menuqc.
implement some considerations for win95, so it can actually run on that horrendously outdated system.
provide scr_autoid and r_showbbox-field info when running csqc.
ignore vid_restarts at the end of config.cfg files from other engines. in fte, these are at best redundant and at worst overrides user settings.
fix issue with latched cvars not flagging the config as modified.
path command always shows filenames properly.
fix some fteqcc inlining bugs.
added precaches command to display all active precaches.
added docs for mapcluster.

906b705bf0 after much breaking, the webgl port now utilises the browser's ogg/mp3 decoder, and the browser's png decompresser. pngs/jpegs do not provide size information.
fixed non-browser ogg decoding and openal logic. should finally be fixed, I guess.
wasted some time on an ezhud plugin, along with ensuring certain info is available to the plugin. this is still a work in progress however.
non-web builds are now able to download images from urls.
download progress does not display for uri_get/uri_post builtins, nor other non-saved things.
q1qvm logic now uses pr_maxedicts cvar. the gamecode api still provides no way to tell how many are permissable, so set at own risk.

tweak some dp compatibility things. probably futile.
moved ode to a plugin.
added screenshot_mega command to take massive screenshots that are not tied to current video mode.
removed offscreen-gecko code completely.
added cvars to rescale offsetmapping from paletted sources, so it can be disabled where its ugly.
added support for zip weak encryption. the password defaults to 'thisispublic'. nothing is fool-proof.
gl: fix stereoscopic rendering.
gl: fix rendertargets with depth.
qc: added support for named builtins that do not have any specific number.
qc: added some new builtins. drawrotpic, drawtextfield, search_getfilemtime, and a few others.
qc: PF_Fixme now attempts to figure out which builtin you tried to call, for more friendly fatal error messages.
qccgui: stepover and stepout are now implemented, as is setnextstatement.
qccgui: added a way to annotate code with the asm statements generated from them.
qccgui: fixed double-clicking a src file.
qccgui: handles multiple .src files more usefully.

589b09ae1d added cl_sendguid cvar, defaulting to 0. this disables the guid feature by default.
reworked a few q2 particle effects. q2 should feel a bit better now. by no means complete.
ssqcless csqc should have time progressing.
q3ui+console should be a bit less stupid.
stripped old huffman code. copied over from ioquake3. should help avoid bugs in that shit.
system mouse cursor should now always be hidden when running windowed. soft-cursor only.
added bindlist.lst feature.
particle system can now support weighted/randomized sounds. model command now more verbose, and supports renderflags.
renamed debugger cvar to pr_debugger, in the hopes that it'll be easier to find. also added to menu a little more visibly in a politically-motivated move.
fix q2+viewsize 30
'high' particles now have scrag+hknight impact effects. perhaps I overdid the scrag one.
fixed q2 player icons on the scoreboard.
added q3bsp_surf_meshcollision_* cvars.
dedicated servers now use the same bsp etc loading code as clients. the dedicated-server-only stuff is no longer needed, which is a good thing because it seemed a little buggy last time I tried.
split vertex+fragment shader compilation, for systems that secretly thread that.

2e1a70e319 rewrote ban code, merging bans+nonbans+cuffs+mute+cripple+deaf+lagged+vip. added timeouts. new penalties have no dedicated command. use the addip command for it.
maplist command now generates links.
implemented skin objects for q3. added a csqc builtin for it. also supports compositing skins.
playing demos inside zips/pk3s/paks should now work.
bumped default rate cvar.
added cl_transfer to attempt to connect to a new server without disconnecting first.
rewrote fog command. alpha and mindist arguments are now supported. fog change also happens over a short time period.
added new args to the showpic console command. can now create clickable items for touchscreen/absmouse users.
fixed menus to properly support right-aligned text. this finally fixes variable-width fonts.
rewrote console tab completion suggestions display. now clickable links.
strings obtained from qc are now marked as const. this has required quite a few added consts all over the place.
probably crappy attempt at adding joypad support to the sdl port. no idea if it works.
changed key bind event code. buttons now track which event they should trigger when released, instead of being the same one the whole time. this allows +forward etc clickable buttons on screen. Also simplified modifier keys - they no longer trigger random events when pressing the modifier key itself.
Right modifiers can now be bound separately from left modifiers. Right will use left's binding if not otherwise bound. Bind assumes left if there's no prefix.
multiplayer->setup->network menu no longer crashes. added rgb colours to the translation view (but not to the colour-changing keys).
added modelviewer command to view models.
added menu_mods menu to switch mods in a more friendly way. will be shown by default if multiple manifests exist in the binarydir.
clamped classic tracer density. scrag particles no longer look quite so buggy.
added ifdefs to facilitate a potential winrt port. the engine should now have no extra dependencies, but still needs system code+audio drivers to be written.
if it can't set a renderer, it'll now try to use *every* renderer until it finds one that works.
added experimental mapcluster server mode (that console command). New maps will be started up as required.
rewrote skeletal blending code a bit.
added cylinder geomtypes.
fix cfg_save writing to the wrong path bug.
VFS_CLOSE now returns a boolean. false means there was some sort of fatal error (either crc when reading was bad, or the write got corrupted or something). Typically ignorable, depends how robust you want to be.
win32 tls code now supports running as a server. added connect tls://address support, as well as equivalent sv_addport support.
exposed basic model loading api to plugins.
d3d11 backend now optionally supports tessellation hlsl. no suitable hlsl provided by default. !!tess to enable.
attempted to add gamma ramp support for d3d11.
added support for shader blobs to speed up load times. r_shaderblobs 1 to enable. almost vital for d3d11.
added vid_srgb cvar.
shadowless lights are no longer disabled if shadows are not supported.
attempt to add support for touchscreens in win7/8.
Wrote gimmicky lua support, using lua instead of ssqc. define VM_LUA to enable.
updated saved game code. can again load saved games from vanilla-like engines.
changed scale clamping. 0.0001 should no longer appear as 1.
changed default mintic from 0.03 to 0.013 to match vanilla qw. I don't know why it was at 0.03. probably a typo.

324e0b9334 updated qc key codes to match 2004+ dp builds.
added qc key code defines to fteextensions.qc
removed map planes limit, lives on as only a sanity limit. should perhaps cvar them.
added cl_run cvar, for q2 compat.
fix \r char not printing properly.
attempt to support holes in terrain again.
fix issue with q3 bspmodel culling.
clamp q3 movement, to not overflow-then-bug-out.
fixed recent zip bug.
now sending an empty string instead of a null string to gamecode when playing a cinematic map, gamecode should be less likely to crash this way.
added 'game' cvar. exactly like gamedir, except a cvar and q2 compatible.

1bb752b582 sdl2 support.
hacky rendertarget stuff. not polished. don't use except for testing. feedback desired.
switched file system to use a qofs_t type instead. define FS_64BIT to make it 64bit (standard on 64bit cpus).
rewrote zip support, ditching unzip.c. this provided zip64 support, and unicode in zips.
changed local address enumeration to not be so stupid.
updated ode support a little to match some dp features.
changed fs_cache scheme, to not rebuild needlessly.

ffc2a08589 pass network addresses around as a pointer rather than as a struct. They've grown quite a bit from vanilla code and can now be quite large. this should give more efficient network filtering+matching.
Added version+time+date to segfault lots.
try to use vbo+vao as needed.
added a manifest file in order to disable uac emulation and its virtual store lies.
particles now support a sort of namespace. eg: an effect called "cfg.effect" will load up the 'cfg' particle config and use its 'effect' effect (but not replace any explicit effects). You can still create particle effects called 'cfg.effect' with no issue.
Added support for fsarchive plugins.
Added a sys_register_file_associations command. .bsp not yet handled, but demo playback should work fine.

6a831e2f99 qwsvdef.h is no more. Many files changed because of this.
enabled ssl support in windows for plugins.
updated jabber plugin.
tweaked downloading logic in an effort to end the madness.
Updated sql code to support sleeping the qc thread until query completion, as a more readable alternative to callbacks.
Client updates should be more explicit now, removing a potential bug.
networked terrain editing should now be in a better state.
updated the dir command to show paths too (so when the same file is listed twice, the pak its in will at least be different). Many files changed because of this.

946b5d6f52 lots of useless stuff.
will attempt to load doom3 maps.
_gl_fog 1 and friends can be used to activate fog, still needs tweeks for use, not a final feature at all.
added gl_screenangle which rotates the screen, including hud.
seems to be some nvidia driver issue. may need end-tasking after video shuts down (including from-fullscreen vid_restarts).
double-frees on glsl shaders is now supposedly fixed.

22bb395305 hexen2 client effects now go via the particle system, if they're supported at all. Added 'h2part' description to provide this.
Fixed svc_setangles and sv_bigcoords.
Model code is now responsible for transforming traces instead of it being generic. This fixes rotating things getting stuck in players in hexen2.
The renderer now generates a list of surfaces to draw. Backend now performs rotations/scaling per entity. This fixes sorting order, at least when not using realtime lights.
Hidden items in the hexen2 inventory that you do not have.
Added colourmapping for hexen2.
Should be easier to click on menu items for hexen2.

ce07219448 Fixes, workarounds, and breakages. Hexen2 should work much better (-hexen2 says no mission pack, -portals says h2mp). Started working on splitting bigcoords per client, far too much work still to go on that. Removed gl_ztrick entirely. Enabled csprogs download by default. Added client support for fitzquake's 666 protocol, needs testing, some cleanup for dp protocols too, no server support, couldn't selectively enable it anyway. Now attempting to cache shadow meshes for explosions and stuff. Played with lightmaps a little, should potentially run a little faster on certain (intel?) cards. Tweeked npfte a little to try to avoid deadlocks and crashes. Fixed sky worldspawn parsing. Added h2mp's model format. Fixed baseline issue in q2 client, made servers generate q2 baselines. MOVETYPE_PUSH will not rotate extra if rotation is forced. Made status command show allowed client types. Changed lighting on weapons - should now be shaded.

4974c57c2c Big fat-off commit.
A few changes. Half-Life support is finally getting committed.
Some unnecessary filesystem code changes.
And there's code for nsapi - meaning we can embed FTE in a browser (firefox and opera on windows work).
A couple of CSQC changes, trying to move towards a final EXT_CSQC_1.
Revised ruleset format finally implemented.
Doesn't compile with msvc6 due to issues with libjpeg not being a clean library.
Presumably its fine in vs2005.
Your mileage may vary.

6e3f69f504 d3d rendering is diabled (framestate, read later - merged will compile just sw+gl for now).
fte particle scripts are disabled (classic works).
I'll fix these in the new year.
Redid framestate stuff again. Slightly better now, but this is the bulk of the changes here.
Reworked the renderqueue to provide batches of items instead of individual items. This cleans up the particle rendering code significantly, and is a step towards multiple concurrent particle systems. fte's scripted particles are broken as I'm trying to find a way to rework them to batch types together, rather than having to restart each batch after each particle when you have two particles in a trail. I'll fix it some time.
Reworked some alias model code regarding skeletal models. Added some conceptual skeletal bone control builtins available to csqc. Currently it can query the bone names and save off animation states, but can't animate - its just not complete.
Added more info to glsl custom shaders.
Updated surface sorting on halflife maps to properly cope with alphaed entities, rather than just texture-based blends (q2-style).

hacked support for SendFlags. It'll work compatibly, just not efficiently.

Particle system abstraction. 'r_particlesystem classic' (vs null or script) will revert to truly classic particles.
Nexuiz might run again.
Network address revamp (sv_port and sv_port_ipv6 can both be used to specify an ipv4 address:port and both corrently accept clients). localhost now properly favours ipv4 (use ::1 for ipv6 localhost).
Download system revamp.
Numerous other changes.
