+# LibreHL Textures
 
+A collection of FOSS licensed textures intended for the use-case of playing (or creating) Half-Life compatible content in a free legal way. Included is 39 XCF source files for GIMP along with 18 full color PNG exports, and the original Quake pallet-limited PCX exports for WAD2.

+## History
+
+These were created back in 2015 for Bloodbath Software's short lived retail Overturn effort, where we needed a certain amount of textures for porting our maps.
+
+While these textures were exported with a limited Quake palette in mind, the full color range is preserved in the source files.
+
+## License & Disclaimer
+
+We release these as Public Domain, or CC0 where Public Domain is not available.
+
+While these textures can be very similar to their original counter-parts, they were hand crated in GIMP, pixel-by-pixel.
+
+This repo is released "as-is", in hopes it will be useful to others with similar goals.
