119e9766b9 [iqm] Use 32-bit indices for large models
That is, those with more than 65520 vertices. Not properly supported for
sw or gl, and glsl isn't rendering properly for some reason (renderdoc
does see the meshes, though, so maybe depth or winding issues).

860f48d541 Clean up about 12000 allocations
Some of them were actual leaks, but tracking memory should be a lot
easier now. However, there's a lot of room for optimization of
allocations (eg, recylcling of hierarchies. There is now 1 active
allocation (according to tracy) when nq exits: Qgetline's string buffer
(I think an api change is in order).

35eec0b2e5 [ecs] Implement hierarchies as components
The main goal of this change was to make it easier to tell when a
hierarchy has been deleted, but as a side benefit, it got rid of the use
of PR_RESMAP. Also, it's easy to track the number of hierarchies.

Unfortunately, it showed how brittle the component side of the ECS is
(scene and canvas registries assumed their components were the first (no
long the case), thus the sweeping changes).

Centerprint doesn't work (but it hasn't for a while).

650ea052ea [vulkan] Support clipping rectangles via scissor
Seems to work well. The other renderers have stubs because I don't feel
like implementing clipping for them. The gl and glsl wouldn't be too
difficult (need to handle the draw queues), but sw needs a fair bit of
work and I'm not sure it's worth the effort.

43cea64709 [renderer] Get trails looking vaguely acceptable
Still not great, but I like the falloff and the mixing is better. The
path offset seems to be unstable, so that needs work still.

34daf9032d [renderer] Get trails rendering again
They're not quite working (trail path offset is incorrect) but their
pixels are getting to the screen. Also, lifetimes are off for rocket
trails in that as soon as the entity dies, so does the trail.

c5731374cd [glsl] Separate out the trails implementation
This gets things *compiling* again, though it's still non-functional and
definitely wrong (don't want trail in renderer_t), but I need to think
about the design for getting trails as components. Also need to think
about integrating trails into the client effects system so trails can be
shared between renderers.

efea07f488 [gl,glsl,sw] Skip onlyshadows alias models
While the gl renderer does (or did) have it's attempt at shadows, the
others don't even try, thus the onlyshadows-marked player model doesn't
work so well (looks rather goofy seeing the arms like that).

35ec2ebb4c [scene] Move dynamic lights into the scene ECS
While the insertion of dlights into the BSP might wind up being overly
expensive, the automatic management of the component pool cleans up the
various loops in the renderers.

Unfortunately, (current bug) lights on entities cause the entity to
disappear due to how the entity queue system works, and the doubled
efrag chain causes crashes when changing maps, meaning lights should be
on their own entities, not additional components on entities with
visible models.

Also, the vulkan renderer segfaults on dlights (fix incoming, along with
shadows for dlights).

585f1161db [renderer] Clean up R_MarkLeaves
Really? More to clean up before (vulkan) bsp rendering is thread-safe?
However, R_MarkLeaves was pretty close: just oldviewleaf and
visframecount, but that's still too much. Also, the reliance on
r_refdef.worldmodel irked me.

dbd3d6502a Nuke qboolean from orbit
I never liked it, but with C2x coming out, it's best to handle bools
properly. I haven't gone through all the uses of int as bool (I'll leave
that for fixing when I encounter them), but this gets QF working with
both c2x (really, gnu2x because of raw strings).

4e1ddaa964 [renderer] Add fitted pic rendering
The pic is scaled to fill the specified rect (then clipped to the
screen (effectively)). Done just for the console background for now, but
it will be used for slice-pics as well.

Not implemented for vulkan yet as I'm still thinking about the
descriptor management needed for the instanced rendering.

Making the conback rendering conditional gave an approximately 3% speed
boost to glsl with the GL stub (~12200fps to ~12550fps), for either
conback render method.

95f55dfc34 [ui] Move text handling into gui lib
And add a function to process a passage into a set of views with glyphs.
The views can be flowed: they have flow gravity and their sizes set to
contain all the glyphs within each view (nominally, words). Nothing is
tested yet, and font rendering is currently broken completely.

136bf882f6 [ui] Move font loading into new gui library
Font and text handling is very much part of user interface and at least
partially independent of rendering, but does fit it better with GUI than
genera UI (ie, both graphics and text mode), thus libQFgui as well as
libQFui are built in the ui directory.

The existing font related builtins have been moved into the ruamoko
client library.

20c861027e [sw] Take advantage of the ECS for edge rendering
This fixes the segfault due to the world entity not actually existing,
without adding a world entity. It takes advantage of the ECS in that the
edge renderer needs only the world matrix, brush model pointer, and the
animation frame number (which is just 0/1 for brush models), thus the
inherent SOA of ECS helps out, though benchmarking is needed to see if
it made any real difference.

With this, all 4 renderers are working again.

8acd5c558b [scene] Make entity_t just an entity id for ECS
This puts the hierarchy (transform) reference, animation, visibility,
renderer, active, and old_origin data in separate components. There are
a few bugs (crashes on grenade explosions in gl/glsl/vulkan, immediately
in sw, reasons known, missing brush models in vulkan).

While quake doesn't really need an ECS, the direction I want to take QF
does, and it does seem to have improved memory bandwidth a little
(uncertain). However, there's a lot more work to go (especially fixing
the above bugs), but this seems to be a good start.

4578b1af0d [vid] Remove console view from viddef_t
This breaks console scaling for now (con_width and con_height are gone),
but is a major step towards window resize support as console stuff
should never have been in viddef_t in the first place.

The client screen init code now sets up a screen view (actually the
renderer's scr_view) that is passed to the client console so it can know
the size of the screen. The same view is used by the status bar code.

Also, the ram/cache/paused icon drawing is moved into the client screen
update code. A bit of duplication, but I do plan on merging that
eventually.

25a14eb232 [renderer] Add a cell-based character buffer
This is intended for the built-in 8x8 bitmap characters and quake's

rendered to the screen in a single blast.

One of the reasons for creating the buffer is to make it so scaling can
be supported in the sw renderer.
